1. Open The Roles and Features Wizard
To open up the roes and feauture wizard. Lauch the "server director" by pressing the Windows key
and clicking on the server manage please meet Screenshot as shown.
2. Click on Add role and Characteristic
Click on add together role and feture to launch the add role and feature wizard.
3. Choose installation Type
Choose rolebase or characteristic based installation to install to local auto.
iv. Click Side by side all the way to features
Click "next" all the style to features. Locate "User Interface and Infrastructure". Click on "Desktop Experience"
and install additional required feature.
5. Go along with the installation and Reboot
Make information technology sure that yous reboot the system
6. Verify that the Utility is indeed installed

Thanks for pointing this out! Was wondering where that lilliputian gem ran off to.
Alternately, executing the "Install-WindowsFeature Desktop-Experience" cmdlet in Powershell also works.

If you lot would similar to do this on a Hyper-V Server car or don't want to go through installing the whole Desktop Feel just to remove a folder, have a look at serverfault.com/.../27123.

How can this be done WITHOUT installing Desktop Experience characteristic? We should not accept to add in one characteristic that includes boosted items just to get one tool Cleanup Manager.

You don't have to install the desktop experience feature. Though the following link shows instructions for 2008/2008R2, this still works for 2012:

OK folks, virtually of you lot are missing the important secret sauce here... if you install the disk cleanup for 2008, you will just get bones cleanup...if you install the desktop experience, you'll get much more valuable options, like cleanup for Windows update! that'due south a biggie!
